Given its remote location, Bettyhill is well served with local facilities including a Post Office/store/filling station, general stores, hotel, inn, primary school, a very well-respected secondary school, swimming pool and gym. There are doctors’ surgeries at Armadale and Tongue. Further facilities are available at Lairg and Thurso and both towns have railway stations. Tesco also regularly deliver to the area.

There is ample opportunity for recreational activities. The dramatic scenery and wildlife give plenty of scope for the hill walker, mountaineer and country sportsman. The fisherman is well catered for with fishing available on the local lochs and rivers including the excellent River Naver and River Borgie. Torrisdale Bay is popular with surfers and kayakers. The property is also close to the North Coast 500 route.

From Lairg travel along the A836 signposted Tongue, when you reach Tongue turn right and follow this road for 4.8 miles until you reach the signpost for Skerray on the left. Follow this road until it starts to drop down towards Skerray Harbour. Follow the road round to the right for 0.5 miles until you reach a road on the right signposted Clashaidy. Go up the hill and at the top of the hill you will see a track on the right. Take this turn and follow the track to the end, 58 is at the end of the track.
